Killing attempt to Awami League leader in Raozan Upazila was strongly protested through holding agitations, procession and protest rally in Upazila Sadar area in North Chattogram.
Upazila Awami League, Jubo League and Chhatra League protested the killing attempt of Mozzamel Hoque , a local AL leader and brought out protest procession followed by rally infront of Raozan Govt college on Raozan -Noapara Raod intersection connecting Rangamati Road. The Chattogram-Rangamati Road in Roazan portion was put on siege for about 5 hours till 6 pm on Thursday by the agitators.
The protest rally demanded immediate arrest of the attackers on local AL leader Mozammel Hoque and declared ultimatum of 24 hours to the local administration .
Police lodged a case against 10 identified and 50/60 unidentified before the Raozan Thana and instantly police rounded two activists of Muniria Jubo Tabligue Party .
The detained Muniria men identified as Md. Masud and Abu Moslem of Mohammadpur of same upazila .Our Raozan correspondent sources said a long queue witnessed from Sattarghat to Raozan where thousands of commuters suffered miserably .
A huge protest rally at the entry point of Noapara Sarak held with Panel Mayor Bashiruddin Khan and it was conducted by UZ Jubo League President Zamir Uddin Parvez . Poura councilors, UP chairman of 14 UPs of Raozan attended the rally .
Following the assurance of the local administration for arresting the attackers on Mozammel Hoque , the siege program was withdrawn from 6 pm sharp. The agitators blamed the activists of Muniria Tablig Party for killing attempt to AL leader of Mohammadpur Union.
