Chattogram Division made them available for the Tier-1 of Bangabandhu National Cricket League (BCL) in the next season after toping the Tier-1 phase of this edition’s league.
They overall collected 31.60 points to finish on top of the Tier-2. Barishal followed them closely throughout the league but eventually came up as second with 29.14 points. The other two teams of the Tier-2-Rajshahi obtained 23.97 points and Dhaka Metro secured just 19.12 points to finish on third and last.
Chattogram’s fate was sealed after their last and sixth round game against Dhaka Metro ended in a draw at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
They were bowled out for just 223 in the first innings and conceded a 35- run lead when Metro put up 258. But Shahadat Hossain Dipu ensured there would be no hiccup for Chattogram, as he struck his career-best 159 to help Chattogram pile up 360 in the second innings. Metro however reached 82-4 before bails were finally drawn on day four.
The match between Rajshahi and Barishal also ended in a draw to help Chattoghram put them in top Tier.
Captain Fazle Mahmud scored a big knock of 188 as Barishal were bowled out for 333 in their first innings but Rajshahi ended their hope to win the game by racking up 421. Farhad Reza denied century being out on 99.
Barishal however made 286-4 in the second innings before the umpires called it a day for the final time. Fazle Mahmud was not out on 71 in this innings.
