State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel was present as Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony of Chattogram Divisional Swimming Pool at outer Stadium on Tuesday.
Chittagong Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Elias Hossain presided over the meeting . Youth and Sports Secretary Dr Md Zafar Uddin was present as special guest.
State Minister for Youth and Sports said river, canals and ponds are being vanished from the country. .
He said this while addressing the Chittagong Divisional Swimming Pool inauguration ceremony as Chief Guest on Tuesday.
State Minister added that to build a swimming pool is not a big deal. The biggest thing is to maintain it. After visiting various districts, I saw the condition of Swimming Pool. We hope that this swimming pool in Chittagong will be maintained throughout the year.
He said a child would ensure his safety by learning to swim in Swimming Pool. Because in our country, many children and people are drowned in ponds, canals and rivers because of not to knowing just swimming.
City Corporation Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin has claimed that if MA Aziz Stadium’s flood lights will be effective and modernized we will produce good quality players within 5 years.
City Mayor said that we have made dream swimming pool for the people of Chittogram. We improved the beauty around Outer Stadium. Everything in our own fund . We do not need to allocate any money. Only when the flood lights of the stadium are implemented and the gymnasium is modernized, I will make good quality players in 5 years.
The mayor is visiting Swimming pool with the Minister of Youth and Sports.
He said that already more than a thousand have applied to learn swimming in this swimming pool. Twenty-four instructors will teach them for 5 hours a day in 5 sessions. There are separate trainers for boys and girls.
On the first day, the children were busy to learn swim.
‘Free swimming training is provided for the disabled. Apart from this, free swimming training has also been made for the limited income people. This is our responsibility as a social responsibility. Besides, a national level game will be organized in Swimming pool in Chittogram in November, “said the Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin.
