English all-rounder Benny Howell has joined the Chattogram Challengers through direct signing in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The Challengers have also taken Lewis directly in the team.
BPL Players Draft is on 27th December. Out of the draft, the teams will be able to field three foreign cricketers. On that occasion, Chattogram recruited Howell as the second foreign cricketer. Besides, the team has recruited Nasum Ahmed as a local cricketer.
Howell has also played in the BPL more than once. He has played in Khulna and Rangpur franchises. The all-rounder is well-known in franchise cricket, though he has yet to play in the England national team.
The Chattogram Challengers confirmed the news of his inclusion in the team through their social networking media. He has experience of playing 144 T20 matches. The English has scored 1934 runs with the bat in 117 innings and has taken 158 wickets with the ball in 127 innings.
Apart from T20 cricket, Howell recently played for the Bengal Tigers in the Abu Dhabi T20 League. He played for the Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred, England’s domestic tournament.
