HSC exam results: Chattogram Board sees lowest pass rate

Students under Chattogram Education Board performed poor in terms of pass rate compared to other education boards.
 A total of 62.19 percent students passed the HSC and equivalent examinations under Chattogram Education Board which is 0.54 percent lower than that of the previous year.
The board also made poor performance in terms of its own performance compared to the previous year. Last year, Chattogram Board secured 62.73 pass rates. Out of 98,926 examinees a total of 61,523 passed in the HSC examinations held in April-May this year. Among the successful candidates, 29,009 are male students while 32,514 are female.
A total of 2,860 students secured GPA -5 in the examination which also is 1,247 students higher than that of previous year. 1,448 male students scored the GPA-5 while 1,412 female students’ areGPA-5 achievers. Only 2.89 percent of the total students who appeared in the examination could secure this distinction reports BSS. In the Science group, 18,101 students out of 22,601 came out successful. In the Humanities group 18,280 students out of 37,573 examinees came out successful. In the Business Studies group 25,142 examinees out of 38,752 examinees came out successful.
Female students have outperformed the male candidates in this year’s HSC exam under the board. The girl’s pass rate of the education board is 65.11 percent while the pass rate of boys is 59.21 percent, according to an official copy of the result.
Chattogram College tops again : Students of Chattogram College got highest amount of GPA-5 among other colleges in Chattogram. Out of 878 examinees in HSC examination, 555 students were able to secure GPA-5. Chattogram College ranked first on the basis of GPA-5.
Govt Hazi Muhammod Mohsin College and Govt City College are in second and third place respectively. A total of 1,769 students took part in HSC exam from Govt Hazi Muhammod Mohsin College and 534 students among them got GPA-5. On the other hand, 2,154 students from Govt City College attended in HSC exam and 321 got GPA-5. The fourth in the list is Chattogram Cantonment Public College.
250 students among 953 of this institution achieved GPA-5. The fifth one is Govt Women College. Among 1,280 students, only 173 got GPA-5 of this institution. Also, Chattogram Commerce College in Sixth, Ispahani Public School and College in Seventh, Cantonment English School and College in Eighth, Potiya Govt College in Ninth and Hajera Taju College is in Tenth place of this GPA-5 based list.
