The first death anniversary of noted film director Chashi Nazrul Islam was observed here yesterday.
Different programmes were arranged at his Kamalapur residence on Kabi Jasim Uddin Road here and his village home at Samashpur under Srinagar thana in Munshiganj district to mark his death anniversary.
The programmes included Quran khawni, doa mahfil and feeding to destitute.
Chashi Nazrul died of cancer on January 11, 2015 at a hospital in Dhaka.
Family sources said, a discussion on Chashi Nazrul Islam’s “life and works” will be held at Jatiya Press Club at 11am today.
