To mark the 41 years of Bangladesh-Korea diplomatic tie a cultural exchange program between Bangladesh and Korea titled ‘Charm of Korea’ was held at Dhaka University on Thursday night.
Korean Ambassador in Dhaka Lee Yun-young and Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique were present to greet the audience.
Ambassador Lee said ‘Today (December 18) is the day we established our diplomatic relations 41 years ago. Korea and Bangladesh have enjoyed an excellent partnership.”
He said Dhaka University is a good friend of Korean Embassy and this concert will help deepen the cultural ties between the two countries.
Dr Arefin Siddique said Bangladesh-Korea friendship is growing day by day and this cultural event will bring the people of the two countries much closer.
He thanked the Ambassador for conducting few projects in this university including solar panel, art workshop in the fine arts institute and Korea Corner in Central Library.
A variety of music teams, consisting of renowned pianist Lim Dong-chang, the Korean traditional music group ‘Noreummachi’, soprano Park Sung-hee and pop star ‘Maronnier’ performed at the function.
This was the sixth event of the music series since last year to celebrate the longstanding friendship between Korea and Bangladesh.
The musical team also performed a variety of beautiful international, Korean and Bangla music, including ‘Ami Banglay Gann Gai’.
