Police will press charges in court on Tuesday against three people for torturing a 12-year-old boy to death in Khulna earlier this month.
Khulna Metropolitan Police’s Commissioner Nibas Chandra Majhi said they monitored the case closely classifying it as sensitive. Sub-Inspector Kazi Mostak Ahmed of
Sadar Police Station, investigating the case, said the chargesheet would be submitted at Khulna Metropolitan Magistrates Court.
On Aug 3, Rakib Hawladar’s former co-workers inserted a high-pressure air pump nozzle into his rectum and filled his body with air at a motorcycle repair shop, severely injuring his internal organs.
He later died at the Khulna Medical College and Hospital. Locals caught repair shop owner ‘Sharif’, 35, his uncle Mintu Mia, 40 and Sharif’s mother Beauty Begum, 55.
The accused and four witnesses issued confessional statements before the court that wrapped up the investigation, SI Ahmed said.
