Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police has pressed charges against Regent Group Chairman Muhammad Shahed and two others in a case filed over misappropriation of Tk 42.57 lakh from a businessman.
Mohammad Zahirul Haque, CID’s assistant superintendent of police and also the investigation officer of the case, on Sunday submitted the charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court in Dhaka.
The other accused are: Masud Parvez, head of Procurement & Supply Chain of Regent KCS Ltd, and its Managing Director Nasir Uddin Biswas.
Of them, Shahed and Masud are now behind bars, while Nasir was shown as a fugitive in the charge sheet.
According to the prosecution, Dr Rafiqul Islam Hilali, proprietor of M/S Rusafa Construction Ltd, filed the case against Shahed and two others with Uttara Paschim Police Station on July 13 last year for misappropriating Tk 42.57 lakh from him.
