The charge sheet in the sensational Naraynganj seven-murder case will be submitted to the court on Thursday. “We hope, all the mysteries over the issue will be resolved with submission of this charge sheet,”
Dr Khandaker Mohiuddin, Superintendent of Police in Naraynganj, said on Monday.
According to Investigation Officials, about 35 persons, including former Commanding Officer of RAB-11 Lt Col [retd] Tareque Sayed Mohammad, Camp In-charge Commander MM Rana and Councillor of ward No-4 of Naraynganj City Corporation Nur Hossain, have been indicted in the charge sheet.
Officials said, the government has taken step to bring back Nur Hossain from India. Nur Hossain, who had been on the run since the incident, was arrested in West Bengal of India on June 14 last year for illegal entry. The investigation procedures so far have been completed about four months ago. So far, 19 people, including 15 RAB personnel, confessed in a Narayanganj court that they were involved with the heinous crime. They have confessed in details. “So, it will not create any obstacle if Nur Hossain does not return,” said an official.
As per charge sheet, Nur Hossain at first discussed the matter with Major Arif. Later, Arif conveyed the proposal [of killing] to Lt Col Tareque Sayed and Commander Rana. The monetary transaction was done by Major Arif.
Of the total amount, Arif himself captured the lions share. During the investigation, it was also proved that Arif took money from Nur Hossain for buying apartment and others. Arif led the killing mission. And he had also planned to kill Nur Hossain after completion of Nazrul murder mission.
Meanwhile, the Home Ministry sources said that India’s External Affairs Ministry had recently informed Dhaka that Nur Hossain would be extradited with due process soon.
Earlier, on September 4, Bangladesh requested India to extradite Nur Hossain and some other criminals who have been hiding there. After Nur was arrested in India, Bangladesh officials sent documents related with seven-murder case to the Indian Home Ministry.
On April 27, Narayanganj panel Mayor Nazrul Islam, three of his associates and the driver, and senior lawyer Chandan Sarkar and his driver were kidnapped from Dhaka-Narayanganj link road. Three days later, six bodies were found floating in the Shitalakhya River while the other was recovered from the same river the following day.
