Paltan Thana Police of the city on Monday submitted the charge-sheet to a Dhaka court in a sedition case filed against BNP Vice-Chairman Sadek Hossain Khoka.
Tofail Ahmed, Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Paltan Police Station and Investigation Officer (IO) of the case, submitted the charge-sheet to Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court. The charge sheet included
names of 24 prosecution witnesses. The charge-sheet says that Khoka at a programme of his party on October 14 last year urged the BNP activists to demonstrate against the Government with machetes and axes.
The court fixed December 14 to decide whether it will take cognizance of the charge sheet or not.
Paltan Police Station Sub-Inspector Khairul M Shahidullah Pradhan filed the case against Khoka on December 7 last year.
On December 4 last year, Khoka was nabbed from a residence at Sector No. 4 of Uttara in the capital. The following day the court granted a two-day remand in one of the two cases filed against him.
