The Special Judge Court-3 of Dhaka on Monday deferred the hearing to April 17 on charge framing against BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and 16 others in Gatco graft case as she was not produced in the court due to her illness.
In the beginning her counsel Masud Ahmed Talukder told the court that the hearing should be adjourned as all the
accused including Khaleda Zia should be present in the court during the charge framing hearing.
On September 2, 2007, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case with Tejgaon Model Police Station against Khaleda Zia and several others on charge of misappropriating around Tk 1,000 crore while dealing with Global Agro Trade (Private) Company Limited (Gatco).
