Court Correspondent :A Dhaka court on Tuesday again deferred the hearing against 26 BNP members, including the party’s Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, on whether to frame charge or not. The new date is August 25. The case was filed on the charges of explosion and arson attack. Magistrate Md Tareq Mainul Islam Bhuiyan of the CMM Court of Dhaka set the new date after hearing on a time petition filed by a defence lawyer.The hearing was scheduled to be held on Tuesdaybut it had to be deferred as Fakhrul’s lawyer Joynul Abedin Mejbah sought time, arguing that his client could not appear in the court due to his illness. He is now Sinpapore for his medical treatment.Paltan Police Station Sub-Inspector Mehedi Maksud filed the case in connection with explosion of crude bomb and torching vehicles in the capital city’s Paltan area during a general strike on March 2, 2013.On March 26 last year, Sub-Inspector Aminul Islam of the same police station, submitted the charge-sheet of the case against 26 BNP men.Besides, Mirza Fakhrul, BNP Standing Committee members Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Mirza Abbas and Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, and Joint Secretary General Amanullah Aman are included in the charge-sheet.
