Violence case: Charge-framing against Fakhrul, 22 others Dec 28

A Dhaka court yesterday (Wednesday) fixed December 28 for hearing on charge framing against 23 BNP leaders and activists including the party’s Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in a violence case filed last year under the Speedy Trial Act.
Magistrate M Tarek Mainul Islam Bhuiyan of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of
Dhaka fixed the date after partial hearing on framing charge in the case on Wednesday.
Twenty-two BNP men including Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and other party leaders- Mirza Abbas, Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Amanullah Aman, Abdullah Al Noman and Habibunnabi Khan Sohel appeared to the court on Wednesday while Mir Sharafat Ali Sopu was absent in the court.
Shahjahanpur Police Station filed the case against the 23 BNP men, including Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, accusing them of obstructing the law enforcers from discharging their duties and vandalizing vehicles in Mouchak-Malibagh area of the capital on March 2, 2013 during the BNP-led opposition’s blockade programme.
