The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Wednesday once again fixed March 6 for hearing on framing charge against 26 BNP leaders and activists including party’s Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member
Barrister Moudud Ahmed in a case filed with Paltan Police Station for sabotage activities.
Magistrate Mohammad Atiqur Rahman of the CMM Court passed the order fixing the new date. Earlier, defence lawyer Joynal Abedin Mesbah submitted a petition seeking deferment of the hearing as accused Mirza Abbas was not produced to court from the jail custody.
The First Information Report (FIR) of the case says that Paltan Police Station Sub-Inspector Mehedi Maksud filed the case against the accused for vandalism, arson attack and cocktail explosion on March 2, 2013 during the BNP-led alliance’s blockade programme.
