A Dhaka Court yesterday (Thursday) framed charge in the case filed for killing
Photo Journalist Aftab Ahmad on December 24 last year.
Dhaka’s Third Additional Metropolitan Session Judge Imrul Qayes framed the charge after hearing the submissions of the defence and the prosecution.
The accused persons are: Aftab’s chauffeur Humayun Kabir Molla, Belal Hossain Kislu, Sabuj Khan, Raju Munshi, Habib Howlader and Md Russel. Of them, first five are behind the bar while Russel is at large. The court fixed August 12 to begin recording of the depositions of the witnesses.
Some miscreants strangulated Aftab Ahmad in his residence at Rampura, Dhaka City on the night of December 24 last year.
The following morning, police recovered his body. The charge sheet of the case was submitted to the court on March 25 this year.
Aftab Ahmad was awarded 21st February award in 2006.
