The Special Judge Court-4 of Dhaka yesterday framed charges against Mizanur Rahman, suspended Deputy Inspector General of Police, and Khandaker Enamul Basir, suspended Director of the Anti-Corruption Commission in a bribery case.
Mizan and Basir, now in jail, earlier claimed themselves not guilty and demanded justice after Judge Shaikh Nazmul Alam of the special judge court read out the charges in the court. Later, the court fixed every Monday from March 23 for recording statements of the witnesses.
On July 16 last year, ACC filed the graft case against the two persons for a transaction of Tk 4 million as bribe.
Judge KM Emrul Kayes of Senior Special Judge’s Court in Dhaka on February 9, took cognizance of charges against the two accused of the case.
