The Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka yesterday framed charges against Monir Hossain alias Golden Monir in a case filed under the Arms Act.
Judge KM Imrul Kayesh of the court framed charges against him and fixed September 8 for recording the depositions of the witnesses in the case.
At the time, Golden Monir claimed himself innocent and expected justice from the court.
On November 20, last year, Golden Monir was arrested by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) with arms, bullets, foreign liquor and currencies, gold ornaments and Taka 1.9 crore in cash from his Merul Badda residence.
On the same day, RAB filed three cases against him under the Arms Act, Narcotics Control Act and Special Powers Act.
