Channel i emerged as champion in the Pepsi-DRU Media Cricket tournament beating Channel 24 by 22 runs in the final match on Monday at the Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium. Batting first, Channel i posted a challenging total of 97 runs with Shafiq scoring the match highest of 44 runs. In reply, Channel 24 was able to pick up 75 runs from their allotted 6 overs.Shafiq of Channel i team was named the player of the match and player of the tournament. He also received Taka 5,000 as cash reward. The champions received Taka 50,000 while the runners-up got Taka 25,000 thousand.Besides, the semifinalists Bangla vision and Alokito Bangladesh got Taka 10 thousand each.State Minister for Youth and Sports Sri Biren Sikder, MP, was present as chief guest in the final and distributed prizes among the winners.
