Gonoshasthaya Kendra Founder and Trustee Dr. Zafrullah on Wednesday said that change will come in the country within three months if BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is released.
“If there will be established peace in the country and to bring good governance and to ensure peoples’ right, it is a must to release Begum Khaleda Zia first,” Dr. Zafrullah said while addressing an inaugural programme of the newly formed ‘Peoples’ Right Party (PRP) in the National Press Club.
Dr. Zafrullah welcomed the newly formed political party.
Gonoshasthaya Kendra Founder said, “Khaleda Zia didn’t embezzle money. She transferred money from one account to another and she is imprisoned now for this.”
The freedom fighter physician said, “Prime Minister invited opposition party BNP to have tea with her, on the other hand, police shot down two BNP men in Bhola. It proved that there is no power in her hand. Power is in other’s hand.”
He said where police supposed to need baton charge, but they used to fire there now.
“Once it was needed to get Magistrate’s permission for firing to unruly people, but now this power handed over to the Superintendent of Police,” Dr. Zafrullah said.
He asked the government to give a free and fair general election for checking people’s choice.
Mahmudur Rahman Manna, President of Nagorik Oikya said in the programme that there is no need for seeking a polls.
“No need to seek a polls but it is important to form greater unity among political parties for strong agitation against the government,” Manna said.
“If it is not possible to sit in one stage, we should start parallel agitation programme for compelling the government for step down,” he said.
Md. Torikul Islam, Chairman of the new party PRP stated its aims.
“PRP will work for the people and never would shun working for the country,” he said.
