Popular actor Chanchal Chowdhury took to social media to warn against sycophancy and urged his fans not to engage in such behavior.
He wrote, “I have often noticed that many people resort to using ‘legendary’ or other synonymous adjectives to describe me. These comments do not make me feel good, rather I instantly become very embarrassed.”
The actor expressed his discomfort with excessive flattery or ‘oiling’ that is prevalent in our contemporary culture. He quipped, “The more we praise someone, the easier it becomes for that person to fall from grace. We all have imperfections. I would urge you not to place me on a pedestal. If we use up all our adjectives to describe someone now, we won’t have anything nice to say when he or she is dead.”
