The opening match of the ICC Champions Trophy will be held in England on June 1. Hosts England will face Bangladesh in the inaugural match. Top eight teams will take part in the ICC Champions Trophy, one of the most prestigious cricket competitions of the world.
Meanwhile, ICC announced on Sunday the prize-money of the tournament.
The champions will be awarded US $ 2.2 million, while the runners-up will be given US $ 1.1 million.
The four semi-finalists will get 4.5 lakh US dollars each.
A total of eight teams splitting into two groups will take part in the first phase of the tournament.
The third place finisher teams of each group will be given ninety thousand US dollars as prize-money. The fourth place finisher teams of each group will get sixty thousand US dollars as prize-money.
