The Champions League Twenty20 Cricket Tournament begins on September 17 at Hyderabad in India. Champions of IPL7 Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will face reigning champions Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural match. Both teams have been billed in the same group.
But prolific all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan cannot take part in the match due to suspension.
Shakib Al Hasan is one of the key players of Kolkata Knight Riders. Hasan had a notable contribution for KKR to clinch the title of the seventh edition of the IPL.
Shakib played 13 matches for KKR and scored 227 runs. Besides, Shakib picked up 11 wickets.
In the final of IPL 7, Shakib Al Hasan bowled four overs and gave 26 runs. Hasan made 12 runs from 7 balls featuring two fours. KKR played against Kings XI of Punjab in the final.
