Popular singer of present time Champa Banik is rendering songs after receiving training from Aboni Mohon Dey, Pulock Bondyopadhyay, Aponu Barua, Shanti Sharma and Pandit Tushar Dutta. She has special acceptability among the listeners by virtue of her outstanding rendering skill and proper presentation.
Though she has a solo album for the first time Champa is coming with a Tagore songs based album. She has already given her voice for two songs for the album under music arrangement by Basu Deb. One song is Tumi kemon korey gaan koro hey guni and another is Olo soi.
Champa informed that the album will comprise with three to four songs. While talking in this regard she said, “I have many days’ plan to release a Tagore songs based album. Basu Dada has cooperated me well. I am grateful to him. I am also grateful to my family. I am releasing this album for my fans. Therefore, by this album one of my dreams will come into true.”
Meanwhile, Champa has been engaged with stage shows. After taking part in a stage show in Munshiganj she yesterday performed with Rathindranath Roy in a live show on Banglavision. On March 28, she also performed in a stage show in Sunamganj’s Chhatok. She will also perform in Sylhet on April 8.
After taking place in Top 10 in Close Up 1 contest in 2005 she quitted herself from the competition later. In 2010’s Sherakontho, she got the fourth position.
She first gave her voice for play-back under Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul’s music composition. In 2010, her first solo album Swapner Anginai was released. She wants to continue practicing music perperly in the long run, she said.
