Champa Banik, Apu render Manna Dey’s songs today

October 24 is the second death anniversary of the legendary singer of the Subcontinent Manna Dey who died on this day two years back.
To pay tribute to Manna Dey, Desh TV will air
a three-hour long live musical programme titled Priyojoner Gaan today from 3:00pm to 6:00pm.
Produced by Bulbul Islam two promising
singers – Champa Banik and Apu
will perform in this live show.
While talking about the live show singer Apu told this correspondent, “I was brought up listening songs of Manna Dey. I will render his songs today.
If I do any mistake while rendering his songs please forgive me. I wished to meet with him. But
I didn’t get the opportunity. But luckily I get the scope to render his songs in the live programme.”
Champa Banik shared her feelings by this way,
“I will render songs of honourable singer Manna Dey. If listeners will enjoy the songs our efforts will become successful. I give thanks to Desh TV
to arrange such type of programme.”
It may be mentioned that Champa Banik has
rendered songs for 16 mixed albums till now. Her only solo album Swapner Anginai was released under the banner of Laser Vision in 2010. In the first Close Up 1 contest, she was top 10 contestants in 2005. Later in 2008, she secured
fourth position in Sherakontho.
On the other hand, Apu’s debut solo album has been released under the banner of G-Series recently. Therefore, he is passing busy times to give
his vocal for various singers’ albums now.
