Md Russel Chowdhury alias Chakki Russel, who was arrested in connection with the killing of Italian citizen Cesare Tavella, reportedly made confessional statement before a court here on Thursday.
Metropolitan Magistrate Shahriar Mahmud Adnan recorded the deposition of Russel under section 164.
Earlier, Detective Branch (DB) inspector Jehad Hossain, also the investigation officer of the case, produced Chakki Russel before the court around 12 noon.
After recording the statement, the court sent him to jail. On November 3, a Dhaka court put Chakki Russel on a five-day fresh remand in connection with the incident.
Earlier, Tamjid Ahmed Rubel alias Shooter Rubel alias Mobile Rubel made his confession on October 26 while Minhajul Arefin Rasel alias Bhagne Rasel alias Kala Rasel on November 1 and Mohammad Sakhawat Hossain alias Sharif made his confessional statement on November 3.
