In 2002 Lux-Anandadhara, when Kushum Shikder won the crown during that year’s contest Brahmanbaria’s Teresa Mustafiz Chaity secured the seventh position finally. During that time despite having keen interest to perform as a model in TV commercials and to act in the small screen but she could not get the permission in this regard from the family. For this reason, she later worked with internationally renowned ramp model and designer Bibi Russell for eight years. After returning from Lux contest she was not seen to work in showbiz.
Before contesting in the beauty pageant Chaity performed as a model in a TVC of ‘Suncrest’ under Afzal Hossain’s direction. After a long time observation, when her family found her interest they gave her permission to work in showbiz.
Chaity first acted in Humayun Ahmed’s serial titled ‘Kala Koitor.’ Later she got the scope to act in Humayun Ahmed’s movie ‘Noi Number Bipod Sangket.’ Till now she has acted in two movies. Another movie was Manik Manobik’s ‘Shovon-er Swadhinata,’ which has been released in the beginning of this year.
Right now Chaity has become engaged with acting. Now she is acting in three serials like ‘Porompora,’ ‘Lady Goyenda,’ ‘Gaye Mane Na Apni Morol’ and ‘DB.’
While sharing her feelings Chaity told this correspondent, “I always prefer to work steadily. For this reason, in media I did not take part at a time in many works. I like to stay silent, in fact I feel comfortable in it. I like to work silently. Despite doing a little bit work when gets positive response from the viewers I feel glad.”
Chaity is the only daughter of Mustafizur Rahman and Khaleda Parvin of Brahmanbaria. Her brother Udoy is staying in Japan. Besides ‘Suncrest,’ Chaity performed other mentionable TVCs are: ‘Tibet,’ ‘Meril,’ ‘Wheel’ and ‘Muskan.’ October 27 was her birthday. She passed the day with her mother in Mirpur’s residence, she said.
