The certificate giving ceremony of a five-day long training programme on “Bio-safety and Animal Cell Culture Techniques for Advanced Research” was held on Thursday at the CARS conference room of Dhaka University (DU).
Cell and Tissue Culture Laboratory of the Centre for Advanced Research in Sciences (CARS) of DU organized the function.
Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Dr Shahid Akhtar Hossain distributed certificates among the participants as the chief guest.
Director of the CARS of DU Prof Dr Altaf Hussain presided over the function while Dean of the Faculty of Biological Sciences Prof Dr Md Imdadul Hoque addressed it as special guest. Convener of Cell and Tissue Culture Lab Prof Dr Rakha Hari Sarkar delivered welcome address. Coordinator of the training programme Dr Sheikh Ariful Hoque conducted the programme.
A total of 11 researchers from different research institutions and universities including Dhaka University, ICDDR,B and BCSIR were given certificates in the programme.
