The certificate ceremony of 4th batch of Pre-sea Ratings of International Maritime Academy was held its own campus at Pubial in Gazipur on Tuesday .
Fifty ratings received their course completion certificate from this academy . Out of 50 ratings 20 from deck, 08 from engine, 07 from fitter, 08 from cook and 07 from steward department. On this auspicious occasion the chief Guest was Enamul Haque Chowdhury, Chairman, International Maritime Academy.
Emdadul Haque Chowdhury, Managing Director, International Maritime was also present as special guest. Besides, many other high officials from Haque and Sons, BMTI and other organization were present.
A smartly turned out ratings took oath in front of the august gathering. Certificate and medals were awarded by Mr Enamul Haque Chowdhury, Chairman International Maritime academy.
The silver medal was received by ratings Mahbuubur Rahman as best deck ratings. Ratings Erfanul Hoque Ahad as best engine & fitter ratings and ratings Rahul Dey as best cook & steward ratings.
Capt. Zaki Ahad, Commandant addressed the outgoing ratings on the auspicious occasion. He apprised the audience training was conducted as per the syllabus approved by Depart of Shipping, Govt of people’s republic of Bangladesh and the progress being made by the academy to enhance maritime education and training in the private sector.
Mr Emdul Haque Chowdhury, Managing Director International Maritime Academy informed the ratings that they will join the foreign going vessels maned by M/s Haque and Sons Ltd in reputed foreign flag companies.
The program ended with a thanks giving season.
