The certificate awarding ceremony of 2nd Batch of pre-sea ratings of International Maritime Academy was held at its own campus at Pubail, Gazipur. Thirty ratings received their course completion certificates on Thursday. Out of thirty ratings, ten from deck, ten from cook, five from engine and five from fitter ratings got their certificates.
The chief guest of the ceremony was Emdadul Haq Chowdhury, Chairman of the Academy and the special guest was Ashrafun NB Chowdhury. Besides, many high officials from Haq and Sons, BMTI and other offices were present.
Md Abu Raihan from Cook Ratings and Ashiqul Hai Moin from Engine Ratings got the gold medals.
A smartly turned out ratings took oath followed by an encouraging speech by Chief guest Emdadul Haq Chowdhury.
Capt Zaki Ahad, Commandant and Capt Kazi Ali Imam, Principal also addressed the out going ratings.
