Central Zone reign day 1 as Mazid, Shadman hit tons in BCL

Abdul Mazid and Shadman Islam hit magnificent tons as Walton Central Zone dominated the first day as they scored 406 for 4 against Islami Bank East Zone in the sixth and last round of four-day Bangladesh Cricket League held on Tuesday at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi.
The one down Mazid composed a polish 159 runs off 182-ball laced with 18 boundaries and six over boundaries before he retired hurt. Marshall Ayub then came to crease to join opener Shadman Islam who contributed 112-run off 157-ball, after Central Zone opted to bat first on the placid wicket.
The left handed batsman Shadman also paired two important partnerships on his way to century as he first paired 77-run partnership Marshal Ayub (14) and then 72-run with Mehrab Hossian Jr (25).
Shadman finally fell to Sohag Gazi after smacking 11 boundaries and three over boundaries.
Shuvagata Hom with 50 and Mosharraf Hossain with 7 on the crease as the stumps were drawn for the day.
Sohag Gazi of East Zone was the most successful bowler as he claimed three Central Zone’s wickets giving away 140 runs.
