Central Zone need 272 to win against South Zone in BCL

Shuvagata Hom bags another four wickets to take his tally to 10 wickets for the match but not before South Zone fought hard to score to score 317 in their second innings against Central Zone on the third day of four-day Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) held on Monday at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
South Zone has now set Central Zone 279 runs target to win but it was reduced to 272 runs to win the match not before Central zone lost a wicket before the stumps on the third day finishing at 7 for 1 at stumps.
Pace sensation Mustafizur Rahman coming out of injury got the lone wicket of opener Shadman Islam for 6 runs.
Earlier, on the day, despite a fierce bowling spells by Taibur Rahman and Shuvagata Home, saw South Zone still managed to stretched their second innings to 317 all out.
Hom, who scored a brilliant century for Central Zone’s first innings, also shine with ball as he grabbed four wickets to restrict South Zone at 317. Taibur also grabbed the equal wickets giving away 52 runs. Besides, Abu Haider took two wickets conceding 61 runs.
Shuvagata Hom who took six wickets in the first innings now has captured four more wickets in the second knock to take his grand tally to 10 for 168 runs for the match.
Earlier in the day opener Shahriar Nafees brilliant 72 runs set the pace for South Zone but it was followed by cameo Abdur Razzak’s responsible 76 which literally helped South Zone cross 300runs land mark.
Earlier, Central Zone were dismissed their first innings at 299, in reply to a South Zone’s first innings total of 260.
