Bangladesh Post Office (BPO) has inaugurated a central control room here to ensure uninterrupted postal services during the countrywide holidays rendered by the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
The initiative has been taken at the directive of Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar to ensure BPO’s essential services such as saving certificate dealings, post office saving bank, post life insurance, digital commerce as well as countrywide transportation of emergency medical equipment, said a ministry press release on Tuesday.
It said the control room has been working round the clock and the hotlines are 01550063700-22. Anyone can also visit www.bdpost.gov.bd.
To continue the services, BPO’s fleet of mail vehicles have been roaming across the country by carrying medicines and physician’s safety gears as well as mail and cash.
A total of 500,019 customers have received services till April 19 from March 28 with a transaction of Taka 538,92,27,079, added the press release.
