Center of Excellence on Frontier Technologies to be established’

State Minister for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak said the government will establish ‘Center of Excellence on Frontier Technologies’ in different educational institutes in the country. He said ‘Center of Excellence on Frontier Technologies’ to be established to prepare the young generation for the fourth industrial revolution, said an official press release. “It would help leveraging research and knowledge on automatic driving, artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), big data, internet of things (IoT), smart city and network,” he added. The state minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at a ‘Digital Education Materials Distribution Ceremony’ for ensuring participation of students in online classes at Dhaka Residential Model College auditorium in the city.
“We were dealing with global epidemics, our leader the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was taking time-befitting action to tackle the crisis,” he said.
Educational institutions in the country have been remained closed for the past five months, but the students’ education is still available on Sangsad Television and online digital platforms due to creation of technological infrastructure,” he added. The state minister said, “Eight thousand Sheikh Russel Digital Labs have been established in various educational institutes in the country to create a technology-rich nation. More 10,000 labs will be established in the next five years. Specialized labs are also being established at different universities”.
“We have to introduce ourselves as a technology-based nation in solving various problems to the world”, he said, adding, a center of excellence will also be established at Dhaka Residential College, urging the students to prepare themselves with knowledge and technology.
