Chittagong divisional development review meeting of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) was held at Chittagong LGED Bhaban yesterday morning with its Chief Engineer Shyma Prashad Adhikari in the chair.
400 officials of the LGED from different district of Chittagong division attended the meeting-cum- workshop.
The chief engineer in the workshop directed the concerned the officials to ensure the cent percent implementation of the current annual development programs. Mentionable that LGED is implementing the development programs under ADP in current fiscal worth about Tk.13,000 crores across the country of which major portion of amount is being funded in the districts of Chittagong Division.
Beside the govt allocations, World Bank, ADB, JAICA, Saudi Fund and Dutch Fund are also assisting in 40 projects in the Chittagong region.
The chief engineer also directed the Project Directors and high officials to ensure the quality work alongwith timely completion of the projects.
Aimed at avoiding the public sufferings , all road constructions and renovations work should be completed within the dry season , he added.
Mr. Adhikari also asked the concerned officials to formulate the environment friendly projects keeping in mind of future climate change affects. He further urged upon the policy makers to formulate projects in hilly remote areas with the view of upgrading their livelihood and better communication systems.
Besides, LGED chief Engineer also asked the concerned PDs and engineers to give priority in the works so committed by the Prime Minister and timely completion of these project.
He also mentioned that to give permanent scenario of highways of development in Chittagong extensive development works will be implemented in this region in coming days with the funding of different donors of abroad.
Among others , Additional Chief Engineer of Chittagong Division Mir Elias Morshed, Addiional Chief Engnieer (City Planning) Anowar Hossain, Superintending Engineer ,Chittagong AshishKumar Paul, Superintending Engineer of Dhaka Region Shahidul Hoque ,Superintending Engineeer(Monitoring) Noor Mohammad, Superintending Engineer (Maintenance) Mosharaf Hossain and Md Matur Rahman, PD, CCRIP were present on the occasion, sources said.
