Speakers in a discussion meeting yesterday stressed on taking Chapainawabganj district under 100 percent sanitation coverage.
Chapainawabganj district administration and Department of Public Health and Engineering (DPHE) jointly arranged the meeting to mark the National Sanitation Month October and World Hand Washing Day.
The meeting was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner of Chapainawabganj with the Additional Deputy Commissioner AKM Tajkir-uz-Zaman in the chair.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Manzurul Hafiz addressed the meeting as the chief guest while Civil Surgeon Dr. Jahid Nazrul Chowdhury, sadar upazila Chairman Md. Tasiqul Islam Tosi and Deputy Director of Family Planning Department Dr. Md. Abdus Salam addressed it as special guests.
Executive Engineer of DPHE Amit Sarkar gave the welcome speech.
The speakers disclosed that meanwhile 97.74 percent families of Chapainawabganj district have come under sanitation coverage.
They also stressed on devising plans for taking 100 percent families under sanitation coverage in the district, maintaining cleanliness and supplying pure drinking water.
