The Education Ministry on Monday imposed ban on carrying mobile phone sets around the vicinity of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination centres restrict to the spate of question leakage further.
“If anyone is found with a mobile sets in and around 200 yards of an examination centre, he or she will be subjected to arrest,” an Education Ministry order said. The Higher and Secondary Division of Education Ministry issued a couple of directives upon the authorities concerned on Monday in this regard.
The SSC question papers have been leaking out from the very first day of the examination. The question papers are being found on social media sites and mobile phone before the start of the examinations.
The SSC and its equivalent examinations started throughout the country on February 1.
Meanwhile, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two persons, including an examinee, involved in question papers leakage from Raozan upazila of Chittagong district on Sunday night.
The RAB members recovered two mobile phone sets and a set of leaked question papers form the accused persons.
The arrestees have been identified as Imran and Nurul Afsar. Nurul Afsar is a SSC examinee from Taracharan Shamacharan High School and Imran is a showroom employee. Deputy Director of RAB-7 (Chittagong) Lieutenant Commander Asekur Rahman said the arrestees admitted that they were involved with question papers leakage.
“Imran and Nurul Afsar bought the question papers from the facebook group and sold to same SSC examinees and guardians,” the RAB official said.
“The arrestees used to sell the question papers for Tk 2000 to 10,000,” he said.
