The government plans to block the social media sites including facebook and shut the all cell phone network during Primary Education Completion (PEC), Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate examinations, Ministry sources said.
The primary and mass education ministry has taken the decision in a bid to check the question papers’ leakage and other irregularities during the examinations.
The Ministry has asked the Bangladesh Telecommunication and Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to block the facebook and shut the all cell phone network during the examinations.
Meanwhile, the Ministry has already completed all preparations to hold the PEC and JSC examinations smoothly. The PEC examinations will start from November 20 and the JSC and JDC examinations from November 1.
The coaching centers will remain under strict surveillance. Besides, the photocopy shops will also remain closed during the examinations.
Mobile teams will be kept active at different points to take immediate action against those who will try to violate the examinations’ rules.
The printing of the question papers of JSC and JDC has already been completed. The BG Press has also been brought under strict surveillance.
The primary and mass education ministry has also sent letters to the police department to play their due role during the examinations. A 25-member committee led by an additional secretary has also formed in this regard.
Convener of the Committee and Additional Secretary Md Nazrul Islam Khan said that their preparations are at the final stage to hold the examinations.
“Control rooms will be set up at primary and mass education ministry, directorate of primary education, madrasa education board and each district and upazila. We also sent a letter to the home ministry to take action against those who will be involved in spreading ‘rumours’ about question papers leaks,” Nazrul Islam Khan said.
President of the Inter Education Board Coordination Committee and Chairman of Dhaka Education Board Professor Md Mahbubur Rahman said that they are working as per the ministry’s directives.
