The Celebrity Cricket Festival powered by Banglalink was announced at a press conference held at a city hotel recently. According to the announcement, the celebrity cricket festival is to be telecasted in holidays of coming Eid-ul-Fitr.
This six-episode television event will start on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr and continue till sixth day of the festival. This festival has been organised to provide the Bangladeshi cricket-lovers with joy and entertainment during the Eid holidays. Six celebrity teams will be formed with a mix of celebrities and cricketers, and they will participate in the tournament to be aired on Gazi TV. In the cricket fest, each team will have eight players and four substitutes and will consist of either a current or ex national cricket team player. The tournament will feature both male and female celebrities in a mixed sport. According to the rules of the Round Robin League, the six teams will play a total of 15 league matches; based on which 2 semi-finals and a final will be held.
