Staff Reporter: The Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda’s fingerprint did not match with the server information when he tried to cast his vote in Dhaka North City Corporation area’s IES School and College polling center at Uttara at the morning today (Saturday).
CEC then used his National ID card number to vote, as the first major Electronic Voting Machine (EVM-Only) polls are underway at both city corporations.
“My fingerprint may not have matched as it was taken eight to nine years back. It also may not even if someone’s fingertips are sweaty or slightly wet,” The CEC said to journalists. He, however, cast his vote at 11:30am.
He said, “No one will go back home without casting his or her vote even if such a problem arises.”
There are three to four ways to cast votes, he added.
