Chattogram Development Authorities (CDA) has demolished illegal parts of a building at Hill View Residential Area under Panchalasih thana in the city.
The drive was led by CDA’s Special Metropolitan Magistrate Saiful Alam Chowdhury with the presence of Authorized Officer Engineer Monjur Hasan on Tuesday morning.
Earlier, Monoara Begum filed a case against building owner Abu Zafor for building illegal construction on CDA’s special court on 25th June last.
CDA Special Court Judge Saiful Islam ordered to CDA’s Authorized Department for investigating the allegation and submit report. The charges against the accused are made under 12 (1) of Article 120 of the Building Construction Act-1952 and Article 44 of Chittagong Development Authorities Act-2018.
Court sources said accused Abu Zafor has built two building without CDA’s permission at Road no. 8 of Hillview Residential Area in Panchlaish of port city , which violates the Building Construction Law.
Authorised Officer Engineer Monjur Hasan said, a neighbor filed a case against Abu Zafor with the allegation of building illegal construction. Later, the accused applied to the court to demolish the illegal part and according to the application the illegal part has been demolished.
