Chairman of the city watchdog – Chittagong Development Authority Abdus Salam said present ruling party spent about Tk.20,000 crores for the development of the port city and challenged of misappropriations atleast Tk.20 from the above fund . He also vows to commit suicide if any one can proves any misappropriations against him . He disclosed it while addressing the Martyrdom anniversary of the father of the Nation and National Mourning Day as arranged by Sector Commanders Forum-71 at a community centre in Boalkhali on Sunday as Chief Guest.
In his deliverations mentioned that the ongoing development work of the city is nearing completion and very recently Prime Minister has allocated additional budget for Tk.6000 crores for city’s development . He said Prime Minister is relentlessly working for fulfilling the dream of Bangabandhu.
He reiterated the conspiracies against Bangalees from 1952 to 1971 which was foiled by the people of Bangladesh under the leadership of Bangabandhu . He mentioned the brutal killings of Bangabandhu and his family members in 1975 by the defeated forces of liberation war and their accomplices . Since killing of Bangabandhu, Awami League under dark for 21 years , he added.
CDA Chairman said the long cherished demand of Boalkhali residents for a bridge over Karnaphuli river at Boalkhali point yet to be fulfilled . He further mentioned that present Sheikh Hasina govt allocated about 20000 crores taka for development of Chittagong city but 2nd Khalurghat bridge yet to implemented .
He assures the Boalkhali residents to fulfill their demand of Khalurghat bridge if he nominated for parliamentary election in next polls from Boalkhali constituency. He also mentioned the remarks of the incumbent lawmaker of Boalkhali constituency regarding interference of CDA for implementation of the said bridge . President of south district AL Moslemuddin Ahmed graced the occasion as chief guest duly presided by the convenor of Commanders Forum-71 , BLF commander Rajendra Prasad Chowdhury . FF AHM Nasiruddin Chowdhury conducted the function duly attended by the FF commanders, AL leaders, Boalkhali Poura councilors, UP members, FFs , teachers , journalists , sources said.
