CDA Chairman Salam gets 2- yr extension

 The government has extended the tenure of Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Abdus Salam for more two years.
A gazette notification signed by Mohammad Abdus Samad, Deputy Secretary of the Public Administration Ministry on Thursday said Salam’s tenure was extended for two years more from this month.
With the fourth extension, Abdus Salam’s tenure as the CDA chairman would be eight years.
Abdus Salam was given contractual appointment as the CDA chairman first on April 23, 2009.His assignment as CDA chief extended first time for two years on April 26 ,2011 .
And second extension for 2 years executed from March 19, 2013 and third extension for one year from April 22, 2014 and the this is fourth extension of Abdus Salam as CDA chief.
Abdus Salam is the treasurer of City AL of chittagong .Mentionable that he entered into active politics in 2005 as a active supporter of City AL president and former Mayor ABM mohiuddin Chowdhury. This is the first time in the history of CDA that a political personality has been assigned in the public job.
In the meantime, Abdus Salam declared to contest Mayoral race in Chittagong but following the party’s nomination to AJM Nasiruddin, Salam back to his pavilion.
