Chittagong MetropolitanPolice will install 110 Close Circuit Cameras in 24 vulnerable points in city including 7 entry points of the city . In this connection, CMP set up a central control room to monitor the CCTV cameras. This was disclosed by the CMP at a press meet held at circuit house on Sunday .
The press meet was told that from first Ramjan , these CCTV cameras will be installed but it may take two or three days more. Deputy police commissioner of DB, Md. Babul Akhter told that CMP has started to keep the law and order in city during holy Ramjan and to control the crimes and traffic mismanagement.
In primary stage, CMP will install CCTV in 24 vulnerable spots and gradually it will be expanded to 50 spots.
Metropolitan police sources said in primary phase, these CCTV cameras will be installed at city gate, AK Khan moore, Alankar moore, GEC crossing, Muradpur, No.2 gate, Bahaddarhat, Oxygen crossing, Sagarika, CEPZ crossing, Rahattarpool, Shah Amanat bridge, New market, Kazir Dewri, etc. In each point 4-5 cameras will be installed , sources said.
