Krishi Bandhu Chula, a kind of stoves have been distributed under the Biochar project of Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh-CCDB. Shibalaya Upazila Nirbahi Officer Jasmine Sultana distributed “Krishi Bandhu Chula” as chief guest among housewives of the project’s work area in the yard of Sajahan Miah’s house in Ulail village on Tuesday.
ShibalayaUpazila Agriculture Officer Riazur Rahman, Ulail UP Chairman, Anisur Rahman, Principal Mohammad Younus Ali, Ulail UP Member Selina Akter were present as a special guests at the function. Beneficiary members and other dignitaries and officials of CCDB Biochar Project were present.
It is learned that the new technology of Biochar making ‘Krishi Bandhu Chula’ has a clean environment for clean cooking, fuel and time saving, prevention of fire accidents and air pollution, reduction of carbon emissions and using Biochar produced to increase soil fertility, increase microorganisms, reduce salinity and water.
Agriculture officials believe that increasing the capacity plays a role in tackling climate change.
By selling the biochar produced from the agri-friendly stove, the user’s family will be financially developed and the use of biochar in the land will improve the soil as well as increase the crop. In the work area of CCDB Biochar Project in Manikganj, there is a great enthusiasm and enthusiasm among the farmers for the use of “KrishiBandhu Chula” and Biochar.
At that time, the agriculture officer, agronomist Riazur Rahman, said that cooking in ‘KrishiBandhuChulaya’ has various benefits. It is possible to make a financial profit by selling the biochar that is available as an additional by-product. The use of biochar in the soil increases the carbon or organic production of the soil, reduces salinity, increases water holding capacity, and increases the effectiveness of chemical fertilizers. Increases the number of living organisms. CCDB’s agri-friendly stove marketing is very much needed to increase the use of biochar. If the use of agro-friendly stoves increases, more biochar will be produced and it can be used on agricultural land. By using biochar, farmers will get more crops and will benefit financially.
