The business community leaders of the Port City Chattogram urged the counterparts of Thailand to introduce direct shipping service between the Chattogram Port and Ranang Port of Thailand aimed at promoting imports and export trade between the countries. This was disclosed by the leaders of Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and the 15members trade delegation of Thailand at a views exchange meeting held at WTO office in Chattagong on Wednesday .
Among others, leader of the Thai delegation Mr. Manu Shitiprasamana, Senior Investment Officer of Thai Investment Board Mr Opipong Khuncorn, Chamber Vice President Jamal Hosain, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Shafiquzzaman, former Director of CCCI Mahfuzul Hoque shah spoke on the occasion.
CCCI President Mahbubul Alam presided over it. Chamber President emphasized the need of creating markets of Bangladeshi procucts in Thailand through regular expo of the Bangladesh goods in Thailand.
He said in last fiscal , the quantity of the mutual trade was 1.31 billion US dollars and urges to minimize the trade deficit between the countries.
Thai leader mentioned Bangladesh is a investment friendly country and the entrepreneurs of Thailand are beging inspired to invest in Bangladesh in coming days.
