CCCI urges increase of manpower for Port’s dynamism

President of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( CCCI) Mahbubul Alam called for installing necessary scanner machines and to increase manpowerin Chittagong Port to make more dynamism of the activities of Chittagong Port and Customs on emergency basis.
 In a letter of the CCCI president to the Chairman of National Board of Revenue Md. Nazibur Rahman , he requested.
The letter was told that the gross development acitivities of the port is increasing by 14 to 15% every year and it is essential to keep open the port activities round the clock but lack of manpower , the port activities after 10 pm remain stalled.
Due increase of container congestions, the dynamism in port activities hampering day by day lack of necessary manpower in port and customs.
To overcome this obstacles of port activities, he suggested atleast one scanner machine in each gate and necessary manpower in customs and port is very much essential.
He also hoped if the activities is properly handled in port, the revenue income of the port will go up to the desired target.
