Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCCI) launched sale of essential commodities at fair prices for the low-income people in the port city yesterday. CCCI president Mahabubul Alam inaugurated the sale in front of the World Trade Chamber last afternoon. Mahabubul Alam, in his speech, lauded the initiative taken by CCCI and urged all businessmen to come forward to keep the prices of daily commodities at a tolerable level.
As part of the programme, CCCI will sell daily necessary goods in subsided prices till 26 Ramadan. The CCCI is initially selling fine rice at Tk 20 and sugar at Tk 40 per kilogram (Kg) in the outlet. It will add more products in the outlet and open two more outlets soon.CCCI directors Sayed Sagir Ahmed, Wahid Siraj Swpan, Anjon Shekor Das, Alamgir Chowdhury and others CCCI directors were present during the inaugural function.
