President of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry urges Energy Advisor Dr. Towfiq -e-Elahi Chowdhury and the state minister for Power & Energy Ministry Nasrul Hamid MP for immediate mitigation of gas crisis in the port city . The chamber chief sent a official letter to them on Wednesday , CCCI sources said.
The Chamber DO letter was told that Chittagong is getting gas supply recently 240-250 mmcft against the demands of 500-550 mmcft . But in recent days, the supply also curtailed from existing 250 mm cft. As a result, the domestic consumers as well as the industrial consumers are the worst sufferers .
He said following the ongoing gas crisis in the port city, the major industrial sectors are suffering back to their output .He also requested the concerned Ministry and the Advisor to allot more quantity of gas from the national grid to solve the current situation.
