CCCI calls for introduction of ferry, air service from Chattogram to Malaysia

President of Chattogram Chamber of Commerce & Industry Mahbubul Alam called upon Malaysian High Commissioner in Bangladesh Noor Ashekin Md.Taib during latter’s courtesy call with CCCI president at World Trade Centre office in the city on Monday. The CCCI president requested the Malaysian diplomat for introducing container and passenger ferry service in between Chattogram Seaport and Penang Port of Malaysian and air service from Chattogram to Kualumpur .
 Among others, vice President of CCCI Syed Jamal Ahmed, Director AKM Akhter Hossain, former Director MA Bakar and High commission office Councilor of Malaysia Md. Idham were present during the courtesy call. Malaysian High commissioner in his brief discussions said port city Chattogram is playing vital role in trade and commerce of the country.
and hence Malaysia is interested to invest in different sectors of Bangladesh. He also emphasized the need of direct communications including sea and air from the Chattogram to Malaysia . Malaysian diplomat hailed Bangladesh for entering as developing country from least developed country in the meantime .Chamber President congratulated the Malaysian diplomat for visiting the world trade centre and depicted the present scenario of Bangladesh towards recent developments and urged him for more Malaysian investment in development sectors. He also hailed the Malaysian govt to help facilitate the Rohingy issue for repatriation of the Myanmar citizens with honour and dignity. Later Malaysian diplomat visits on going 3rd SME fair and Exhibition hall of World Trade Centre, a CCCI sources said.
